Your Penalty Charge Notice may be a different charge to another dependent on the type of contravention that occurred.

You will receive a fine on the issue of a Penalty Charge Notice for both lower level contraventions and higher level contraventions.

Lower level contraventions

5 Parked after the expiry of time paid for time
6 Parked without clearly displaying a valid Pay and Display ticket
7 Parked with additional payment made to extend the stay beyond the expiry of the time originally purchased
22 Re-parked, within specified time, of leaving a bay within the same parking place
24 Not parked correctly within the markings of a place or bay
30 Parked for longer than permitted
63 Parked with the engine running where prohibited

Higher level contraventions

40 Parked in a designated disabled person's parking place without displaying a valid disabled person's badge
2 Parked or unloading/loading on a restricted street where a loading ban is in force
45 Parked on a taxi rank
16 Parked in a permit space without displaying a valid permit
46 Stopped when prohibited - Red Route or Clearway
23 Parked in a parking place not designated for that class of vehicle
47 Parked on a restricted bus stop
26 Parked in a special enforcement area more than 50cm from the edge of the carriageway and not within a designated parking place
48 Stopped in a restricted area outside a school during term time
12 Parked in a residents or shared use parking place or zone without clearly displaying either a permit, voucher, or Pay and Display ticket for that place
21 Parked in a suspended bay or part of bay
25 Parked in a loading bay during restricted hours without loading being seen
1 Parked on a restricted street - single or double yellow lines
61 A heavy commercial vehicle wholly or partly parked on a footway, verge or land between two carriageways - 7.5 tonnes or more
62 Parked with one or more wheels on any part of an urban road other than a carriageway (footway parking)
74 Using a vehicle in a parking place in connection with the sale or offering or exposing for sale of goods when prohibited
87 Parked in a designated disabled person's parking place without displaying a valid disabled person's badge in the prescribed manner
99 Stopped on a pedestrian crossing or area marked by zigzags
