Are you entitled to any extra benefit income?

Research shows that many people are missing out on unclaimed benefits. In particular pensioner households and households which include people with health problems or disabilities are missing out.

The City of Wolverhampton Council are now offering FREE and CONFIDENTIAL ‘missing benefits’ assessment to people living in the city to prevent households from missing out on benefits they are entitled to. If you would like to find out whether you are one of the people missing out, then all you need do is complete the online Missing Benefits Assessment Form. It will only take between 10-15 minutes to complete the form as an individual, and slightly longer if you are a couple.

It may be helpful if you have the following information at hand when completing the online form:

  1. Details of what Social Security benefits you/your partner receive
  2. Details of what you / your partner may receive in Child Tax Credit and/or Working Tax Credit
  3. If you / your partner work, details of your net wage / take home pay
  4. If you live in rented accommodation details of how much rent you / your partner pay
  5. National Insurance number and partner’s National Insurance number if you have one

If you are concerned that a relative, friend or neighbour might be missing out on an unclaimed benefit, then you can complete the Missing Benefits Assessment Form on their behalf. You will, of course, need their permission to do so and the relevant information referred to above at hand.

It is important to bear in mind that whilst entitlement to some benefits is ‘means-tested’ (that is to say that whether you qualify for any help will depend on the level of your income and savings) there are nonetheless many benefits which may be applied for irrespective of your income and savings.

If you would prefer to complete a paper version of the Missing Benefits Assessment Form then please email us at wrs.benefitshelpline@wolverhampton.gov.uk or ring us on 07989 854392 and we can arrange for a copy of the form to be sent to you together with a return envelope.

Whether you complete an online or a paper form we will contact you to discuss your circumstances, advise you on any missing benefits, and help you to understand what steps need to be taken to apply for these benefits.

Please complete the online form for your FREE and CONFIDENTIAL ‘missing benefits’ assessment.
