The Mayor of Wolverhampton is inviting people to donate new items for a fundraising tombola in aid of his chosen charities.

Almost any type of gift would be welcomed, including boxes of chocolates, drinks, toiletries, gadgets and toys. Businesses are invited to supply gift vouchers for their services. Unfortunately, fresh and perishable foodstuffs are not suitable.

All proceeds will go to Mayor Councillor Michael Hardacre's 3 chosen charities, The Haven Wolverhampton, which supports women and children who have been subjected to domestic abuse, Wings and Paws, a charity for sick, neglected and unwanted animals, and Give Us A Break, which provides activities for children and young people with complex disabilities and their families and carers.

Donations can be brought to Business Reception at the rear entrance of the Civic Centre, or alternatively the Mayoral staff may be able to collect items while out and about on Mayoral business. People who have items to donate which need collecting are invited to email

Mayor Councillor Hardacre said: "If you have anything you wish to donate, from sweet treats and drinks to unwanted presents, for our next tombola, please send them in so we can raise as much money as possible for 3 very good causes – we, and they, would be very grateful.

“And if you run a business, we’d also welcome the donation of gift vouchers which the lucky recipients can spend with you.”

The tombola will be held at the Armed Forces Day celebration in West Park on Saturday 24 June, 2023.
