Issuing of Fit for a Fiver vouchers will now recommence for Swimming only. Please contact the centre directly for successful applications prior to attending the site. Swimming sessions must now be booked in advance.

Any vouchers issued in January - March 2020 may now be redeemed for swimming only.

Fit for a Fiver is an exercise programme where participants pay £5 and get up to 3 months' worth of exercise if they meet certain eligibility criteria.

If accepted into the programme, participants are entitled to either 12 community gym sessions or 3 months access to public swimming for £5.

Gym - utilise one of 4 community Easyline gym venues where Fit for a Fiver is offered, see the latest timetable.

Swimming - take advantage of the public swimming sessions at WVactive Central, WVactive Bilston-Bert Williams and Wolverhampton Swimming and Fitness Centre (Bentley Bridge).

In order to be accepted into the programme, you must meet the set criteria:


  • City resident, registered with a Wolverhampton GP, or work in Wolverhampton
  • 18 years+
  • Considered obese or have Type II diabetes
  • Currently inactive

Please note that an email address is required to apply for Fit for a Fiver. If the applicant does not have an email address, one of a friend or family member may be used with their permission. Please ensure that the email address used is one that can be accessed, as the applicant will need to bring a copy of the confirmation email (either electronic or printed) along to their first session at the chosen venue and identity will be checked. Only one successful application will be accepted per email address. Should you still have issues obtaining an email address, please contact the library service to reserve a computer and ask for support to get online.
