Single Person Discount Review
We are currently carrying out a review of Council Tax Single Person Discount (SPD) claims.

This review is being undertaken to ensure discounts are awarded accurately and only where there is a valid entitlement.

To support this work, City of Wolverhampton Council is working with Civica, a specialist data and software provider. Civica may contact some residents to confirm that they are still entitled to receive the discount.

Why we are carrying out this review
The Single Person Discount reduces Council Tax by 25% for households with only one eligible adult. Reviewing these discounts helps us to:

  • Make sure discounts are awarded correctly
  • Prevent incorrect claims
  • Ensure fairness for all Council Tax payers

What you may need to do
If your household is selected for review, you may be contacted by Civica on behalf of the council. They may ask you to confirm details about who lives in your property.

It is important that you respond promptly to any communication. Failure to respond may result in your discount being removed.
