There are a number of ways to pay your business rates.

Direct Debit

Direct debit is the easiest way to pay your business rates.

Paying online is quick and easy. Payments are protected using Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology. We accept most major credit and debit cards.

You can now pay your Business Rates through My Account. This gives you access to a range of Council services. To get started by registering for an account here and pay your Business Rates. You will need your 8-digit reference number shown on your bill.

By phone

You can make a payment using the council's 24-hour automated payment Freephone line.

Telephone and internet banking

Alternatively, you can ring your own bank and ask them to make the payment to the following council bank account:

  • sort code: 56-00-69
  • account number: 44470339
  • reference number: the 8-digit number as shown on your business rates bill or payment card

Using the barcode on your bill

A barcode now appears on the back of all business rates bills.

Using the barcode, you can pay your business rates at any PayPoint outlet or Post Office.

Please note it may take a few working days for this payment to reach your account. You need to make sure that any payment is made in good time to allow for this.
