The standard certificate order cost of a copy certificate is:
- £11 per certificate which is either collected from the office or sent standard Royal Mail second class post. Applications will be processed within fifteen working days.
If you require a certificate urgently, a priority certificate orders service is available where the certificate will be produced within 2 hours. The fee for this service is:
- £35 per certificate which will be sent First Class post, on the same day working day that the order is received. Orders received after 3pm will be sent the next working day.
All applications are subject to an additional £5 processing fee per order, which will be added to the total cost of your application/s.
How to request a certificate
Standard certificate orders can be placed by completing the relevant forms below, a member of staff from the Register Office will then call you within 5 working days to take a payment from you using a debit or credit card. Please ensure you have this form of payment available.
Priority certificate orders can 'only' be placed over the telephone using a debit or credit card by calling us on 01902 551234. Our lines are open between 9am and 5pm Monday - Thursday, and 9am-4.30pm on Fridays. Priority certificates will need to be ordered before 3pm, to be issued the same day. If you do not have a debit or credit card available, certificates can be ordered by attending the Register office in person, our address is:

Please note: The following areas do not fall within the boundary of Wolverhampton, and if the birth, death, or marriage happened in one of these areas, City of Wolverhampton Council will not hold the certificate.
