The right to bid allows communities to nominate land and buildings for inclusion on a list of assets of community value. Assets can be listed where they further (or have recently furthered) the communities social well-being or social interests. This includes cultural, sporting or recreational interests. When a listed asset is put up for sale, it allows the community a chance to pause the sale process in order to raise the funds needed to purchase it. It is for the local authority to administer the process and nominations must be made to the council for consideration.
How you can list an asset
You will need to discuss your nomination by contacting the council's planning department.
