Wolverhampton’s Yo! Christmas is officially launched today (Friday), offering lots of fun activities and events for the city’s children and young people and their families over the festive season.

The activities, many of which are free, start on Saturday 18 December, with a packed programme running throughout the Christmas holidays, including sports, clubs, festive fun days, arts and crafts, and more.  
 
Highlights include boxing, fitness, indoor soft play, go-karting, arts and crafts, dance classes, puppet and magic shows, and the chance to meet some real-life reindeers at a Christmas fun day at Graiseley Strengthening Families Hub. 
 
Central Youth Theatre will be holding Christmas drama fun days, Real Arts Workshops will be offering arts and crafts and wellbeing activities, and there is lots more festive fun across various locations. 
 
Voice4Parents have also organised a fantastic line up of dedicated activities for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities including cinema, bowling, Christmas fun days and sensory play.  
 
Councillor Beverley Momenabadi, Cabinet Member for Children and Young People, said: “The Yo! Christmas activities help support the council’s priority of giving children and young people the best possible start in life, and once again we are excited to bring a really fantastic programme of activities for children and young people to enjoy during the school holidays.  
 
“We know that these type of activities help strengthen children's resilience and self-confidence whilst equipping them with new skills. 
 
“Thanks to all of the local providers, volunteers and organisations that have worked with us to build this offer and I would encourage everyone to have a look at Yo Wolves, book your places and have some fun this Christmas.” 
 
Councillor Mike Hardacre, Cabinet Member for Education, Skills and Work added: “The Yo! holiday activities are such a great opportunity for our children and young people to make the most of their time off school and the Christmas programme is packed with lots of festive fun things to do, many of which are free. 
 
“We’re thrilled to be working with lots of local organisations, volunteers and providers to really showcase what our city has to offer for young people and to its fantastic to be able to work in co-production with so many fantastic partners.” 
 
As well as details of holiday activities, the new online platform which has been launched as part of the Yo! brand also offers children, young people and families support, advice and information on everything from mental health and wellbeing to education and careers.
