Pride ticketholders heading for Wolverhampton next weekend can now enjoy discounted tram travel on the day as West Midlands Metro steps up its support for the local LGBTQ+ community.

When featured headliners like Denise Van Outen and Duncan James take to the stage on Old Market Square on Saturday 8 June, Pride ticketholders can enjoy a discount of 20% on tram travel, helping them avoid the traffic!

Michael Reading-Skilton, West Midlands Metro Head of Commercial, said: “We enjoyed a huge take up of a similar deal during last weekend’s Birmingham Pride and we’re delighted to extend the offer to cover Wolverhampton’s own celebration of its vibrant LGBTQ+ community.

“With over 700 free spaces at our park and ride sites, services every 8 minutes, and trams running until late, ticketholders can avoid missing out on any of the fun while enjoying hassle free travel to the heart of the action.

Michael added: “This offer emphasises our commitment for events happening in the Midlands, including those that celebrate the LGBTQ+ community, which comprises members of the Metro team as well as many of our customers."

Ian Fegan, Director of Vibrant City at City of Wolverhampton Council said: “We’re really pleased that the West Midlands Metro have come onboard as the latest supporter of Wolverhampton Pride. We encourage guests to take advantage of this offer and use public transport where possible.”

To take advantage of the discount, all Pride ticketholders need to do is download the My Metro app and scan the QR code on an email they’ll receive from Wolverhampton Pride.
