Social care professionals can find out more about some of the job opportunities available in Wolverhampton at a recruitment fair in Birmingham shortly.

Representatives from the City of Wolverhampton Council's Adults and Children's Social Care services will be on hand to highlight current vacancies in the city at the annual Compass Jobs Fair, the largest social work and social care recruitment, retention and career development event in the UK.

The vacancies include social workers within Adult Social Care services, the Looked After Children Service, and the Children in Need and Child Protection Service.

As well as finding out about existing vacancies and speaking to employees already working in Wolverhampton, job hunters will also be given the chance to be informally interviewed for positions, with successful candidates then invited to a formal interview in Wolverhampton at a later date.

Councillor Val Gibson, the City of Wolverhampton Council's Cabinet Member for Children and Young People, said: "We will be attending this national event to raise the profile of social care services in Wolverhampton and promote the opportunities currently available in the city.

"We're keen to hear from talented social care professionals looking for the opportunity to make a real difference to care users, and I'd encourage people the find the City of Wolverhampton Council's stand at the event."

The Compass Jobs Fair takes place at Thinktank, Millennium Point, Birmingham, on Wednesday 16 March, 2016, from 9.30am to 4.30pm. For more information, please visit Type=links;Linkid=5645;Title=Compass Birmingham Jobs Fair;Target=_blank;
