Local libraries are hoping to have a laugh as they celebrate Black Country Day on Sunday 14 July.

Black Country Libraries in Partnership, which includes the City of Wolverhampton Council's Library Service, are holding a Black Country Family Joke Competition – with prizes for the funniest up for grabs.

To enter, email your best Black Country joke to mylibraryservice@wolverhampton.gov.uk by 14 July; library staff will pick their favourites and post them on Twitter or on Facebook

Councillor Harman Banger, the City of Wolverhampton Council's Cabinet Member for City Economy, said: "We're well known for our sense of humour in the Black Country, and this is our chance to show it off. If you know a joke or two, email them to mylibraryservice@wolverhampton.gov.uk and help celebrate Black Country Day in style."

It's free to join Wolverhampton's libraries. For more information, please visit Wolverhampton Libraries
