The City of Wolverhampton Council's Safeguarding Service is teaming up with the Grand Theatre for the event on Tuesday 13 June, 2017, which will promote the safeguarding of children and young people involved in performances.
It is aimed at members of amateur and professional dramatic societies, dance schools and chaperones and aims to offer individuals a greater understanding of, and their responsibilities around, safeguarding, and how they can protect children and young people.
It will feature presentations from the City of Wolverhampton Council's Head of Safeguarding Dawn Williams and Child Employment Officer Jan Hickman, as well as the Grand Theatre's Chief Executive Adrian Jackson and Associate Director Technical Services Mark Ryal.
Jan Hickman, the City of Wolverhampton Council's Child Employment Officer, said: "We all have a duty to safeguard vulnerable children and young people, and the council and its partners are committed to raising awareness among professionals and the general public about what they should be aware of, and what they need to do if they have any concerns.
"This workshop, which is being delivered in partnership with the Grand Theatre, aims to give individuals and organisations a greater understanding of their roles and responsibilities when it comes to protecting the children and young people they work closely with."
