The Fast Track into Sports Coaching course will offer trainees an opportunity to gain a Level 2 Principles of Coaching and Multi Sports qualification, and Emergency First Aid and Children Safeguard training.
They will also have the chance to gain practical work experience, and for those trainees who successfully complete the programme there will be a guaranteed job interview with Wolves in the Community for the posts of Casual Sports and Inclusion Coaches.
The programme has been organised by City of Wolverhampton Council's Economic Inclusion Team in partnership with Wolves Community Trust, City of Wolverhampton College, Black Country BeActive Partnership, Department of Works and Pensions, Street Games and Gloucester Street Community Centre.
Councillor John Reynolds, Cabinet Member for City Economy, said: "The Fast Track into Sports Coaching programme is a fantastic way of delivering qualifications, work experience and job opportunities for unemployed residents in Wolverhampton.
"As a council this is one of many initiatives we are involved in to work proactively with partner organisations to ensure the most disadvantaged and excluded in the city are able to benefit from life changing opportunities."
An information session is being held on Tuesday 19 January at 2pm, in the Billy Wright Stand, Molineux Stadium, Waterloo Road, Wolverhampton, WV1 4QR. Anyone interested should report to main reception.
