Carers can enjoy discounted refreshments and meet others who look after a friend or relative to share experiences, information and advice at two new Carers Cafés in Wolverhampton shortly.

The cafés are being launched by the City of Wolverhampton Council's Carer Support Team and will meet on a monthly basis at the Sainsbury's Café in its new St Mark's store and Café Zest in House of Fraser on Victoria Street.

Carer Support Team manager Lesley Johnson said: "We are delighted to have the support of Sainsbury's and House of Fraser to launch these new cafés, which will give carers and the people they look after the chance to meet other carers, make new friends and get useful information and advice.

"A member of the Carer Support Team and a community support officer will be on hand at each event to talk to carers about the help available to them to carry out their caring role, and it's also an opportunity for carers to relax and have a bit of well deserved 'me time'.

"Best of all, Sainsbury's Café and Café Zest will be offering holders of our Carers Emergency Card 10% off their bill during each Carers Café."

Carers Cafés at the Sainsbury's Café will take place from 2pm to 3.30pm on Tuesdays 10 May, 14 June, 12 July, 13 September, 11 October and 8 November, 2016.

Carers Cafés at Café Zest will take place from 10.30am to 12pm on Wednesdays 25 May, 29 June, 27 July, 28 September, 26 October and 30 November, 2016.
