Families have another chance to have a go at tennis in Wolverhampton's 2 premier parks over the summer.

It follows the success of the Great British Tennis Weekend, which saw nearly 100 people take part in special sessions at the courts in West Park and East Park last Sunday (20 July, 2014).

Now the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) has announced further sessions over the next few Sundays, giving people young and old the chance to try out the sport and receive some expert coaching.

Free sessions take place on Sundays at West Park until 31 August, 2014, with mini tennis sessions from 10am to 10.45am for those aged 8 and under, junior tennis for young people aged up to 16 from 10.45am to 11.30am and Tennis Express beginner sessions for adults from 11.30am to 12.15pm. Parents are welcome to join in with their children in the first 2 sessions.

There are also free sessions at East Park on Sundays until 24 August, 2014, from 10am to 12pm which are open to people of all ages and abilities.

Keely Fowler, LTA regional tennis participation manager, said: "We had a fantastic response to our Great British Tennis Weekend events at West Park and East Park and it was amazing to see so many people grabbing a racket and getting involved.

"So we're pleased that we have been able to arrange further sessions over the next few summer Sundays and I'd encourage as many people as possible to come along and have a go."

Rackets and balls will be provided, enabling those that attend and have never tried playing tennis before to get involved straight away and not be limited by their ability, age or experience.
