Megan Baynham, a member of the HY5! Youth Forum, has been recognised by the High Sheriff of the West Midlands for her valuable contribution in enhancing the lives of others in the community.

The 22 year old was accompanied by her parents Sarah and Adam to an awards ceremony along with the Mayor of Wolverhampton Councillor Dr Michael Hardacre and his Consort Lynn Plant at the Legacy Centre of Excellence in Birmingham where she was presented with an Inspiring Others award by High Sheriff Wade Cleone Lyn CBE CD DL.

Megan said: “It was a great privilege and an honour to be awarded the High Sheriff of West Midlands Award for Inspiring others in Wolverhampton with special educational needs and disabilities.”
Mayor Councillor Dr Hardacre added: “The event is an occasion to celebrate the achievements of people in our community through the High Sheriff’s Inspiring Others awards, which recognise those who have gone above and beyond to help others in their community.

“It has been traditional for Mayors of each of the boroughs of the West Midlands to nominate a young person for an award and I am delighted to have nominated Megan.

“She was recognised for her hard work and commitment with HY5! Youth Forum, a group of young people who work together to create better futures for young people with additional needs and disabilities. Congratulations Megan.”
