Help for Heroes, Wolverhampton Samaritans and Compton Hospice were Councillor Christine Mills' chosen charities while she was Mayor between 2012 and 2013.
She staged a series of fundraising events for the 3 very worthwhile causes during her time in office, from coffee mornings and quiz nights to concerts, a craft fair and fashion show.
Representatives from each charity visited the Mayor's Parlour on Tuesday (27 August, 2013) and collected cheques for £11,267.37 each.
Councillor Mills said: "I am delighted with the amount of money raised and very grateful to all the people who supported me throughout the year, including the many individuals who donated money or prizes or gave up their time to help stage these events.
"Help for Heroes, Wolverhampton Samaritans and Compton Hospice are very worthwhile causes and this money will help them to continue offering the vital services they provide to the people of Wolverhampton and the West Midlands."
Current Mayor of Wolverhampton Councillor Milkinder Jaspal is busy raising money for his chosen charities, the MS Society, Guide Dogs for the Blind and the Collegiate Church of St Peter's. His next event is an afternoon tea with live music in the Mayor's Parlour on Tuesday 17 September, 2013. Tickets are available now, priced £7.50.
Further ahead, the Mayor's Parlour will be hosting a Halloween themed charity coffee morning on Thursday 31 October, 2013 from 10.30am to 12pm.
