Now in its 11th year, Love Parks Week runs from 14 to 23 July and is Britain's biggest celebration of these valuable spaces.
The City of Wolverhampton Council is joining the celebrations and encouraging everyone to get out and about, enjoy their local park and then go onto social media and, using the hashtag #LoveParks, tell the world why they love their park.
In particular, people are being encouraged to make a "beeline" for Bantock Park, where a new summer meadow is bursting with wildflower meadow plants and various insects.
Volunteers from the Bantock Park User Group, Birmingham and Black Country Wildlife Trust and the City of Wolverhampton Council's grounds maintenance team have been working hard to create the new meadow, which includes a wide range of wildflowers including poppies, daisies, cornflowers, primroses, cowslip, dog violet and more.
The meadow is already starting to attract various insects including honey bees, butterflies, ladybirds and beetles.
Councillor Steve Evans, the City of Wolverhampton Council's Cabinet Member for City Environment, said: "The new wildflower meadow at Bantock Park is another example of a collaborative partnership where we have worked with local people for the benefits of the community and visitors.
"The aim of this project was to convert some grassland into a species-rich meadow. It has been a huge success and the work will help further to diversify the area and create a good habitat for bees, birds and butterflies amongst other species.
"I would encourage people to get out and about during Love Parks Week and visit not only Bantock Park but our other parks and green spaces throughout Wolverhampton."
Wolverhampton has over 600 hectares of green spaces, including eight main district parks and one City park.
Love Parks Week is organised by Keep Britain Tidy and its Green Flag Award manager Paul Todd said: "We believe that everybody, wherever they live, should have access to a quality green space. We are asking everyone to join us in showing how much they care and helping us to protect parks for future generations."
