His Royal Highness The Duke of Gloucester is coming to Wolverhampton on Wednesday 23 November, to unveil a plaque commemorating the anniversary of the famous statue.
The Duke is the great great grandson of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert.
And children can now enjoy an exhibition dedicated to old fashioned play and toys at the Lichfield Street gallery.
Victorian Playtime runs until Sunday 5 February and is full of free magical festive fun and games for families.
Step into the gallery and find out what life was like before computers, smart phones and even the television.
Children are encouraged to spend time playing old fashioned games, have a go at puzzles and pick up teddy bears and dolls as part of the exhibition.
Young visitors can also dress as a Victorian and have a go at quoits, test their coordination with a wooden cup and ball, and write and sketch on a slate.
Councillor John Reynolds, City of Wolverhampton Council Cabinet Member for City Economy, said: "In the run up to Christmas and over the school holidays this is a lovely exhibition to bring children to.
"I'd encourage parents to get their children to ditch their electronic toys for an hour or two and spend time in the gallery playing with old fashioned toys in an authentic setting."
Running alongside the free exhibition is another family festive show, 'Fairytale Magic' where children aged 10 and under can experience Christmas magic. On Wednesday 23 November they can even meet Santa, when the gallery is open 5pm to 7pm during the city's Christmas lights switch on.
