From chocolate egg hunting to face painting, crafts and children's rides, visitors will be in for a treat when visiting their local market.

Bilston Market will host a free Easter Egg hunt, along with a variety of Easter activities on Friday 30 March and Saturday 31 March starting at 10am until 3pm.

In partnership with Bilston BID, (Business Improvement District) the markets team have planned a mystery trail that will allow visitors to rediscover the town centre, while picking up clues leading to tasty treats.

Starting at Bilston Indoor Market, egg hunters discover hidden clues to claim their chocolatey prize. The trail is completely free and everyone who completes the trail will receive a chocolate egg.

In addition to the egg hunt, there will also be a bouncy castle for children to enjoy.

Wolverhampton's City Centre Market has also planned activities throughout the Easter holiday on their usual trading days - Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Market Traders will be on-hand to offer recipes and cooking tips for adults and host crafts and face painting activities for children.

Councillor Steve Evans, Cabinet Member for City Environment at City of Wolverhampton Council said: "There is a great range of family friendly Easter activities taking place at Wolverhampton's markets with something for everyone and this year, we're working with Bilston BID to make sure the offer is even better for all our visitors.

"I encourage everyone to head down to their markets and get involved in all the fun. This a great way to get out with the children and pick up some great value and excellent quality fresh fruit, meat, and fish, and other goods."

Simon Archer, Bilston Business Improvement District (BID) Manager said: "Bilston BID are really keen to support any events the Market Team are organising throughout the year.  A prosperous market is vital to Bilston and it's important we do everything we can to attract more shoppers and traders to the town."

The popular colouring competition also makes a return for children aged up to 16. The winner of the best coloured-in Easter egg will win a £100 book voucher for their school and £20 voucher from the Entertainer for themselves. Entries must be submitted to the Easter teams in Bilston or City Centre markets by 2pm on Saturday 14 April.
