People can get top tips and advice about healthy living from the experts at special events taking place over the next few days.

Members of Wolverhampton's Healthy Lifestyles Team will be at the Civic Centre during JanUary - the national week long campaign by the National Obesity Forum encouraging people to make small lifestyle changes which will improve their health and wellbeing.

They will be at the Civic Centre on Thursday and Friday (14 and 15 January, 2016) from 10am to 3pm offering practical advice and guidance on healthy eating, losing weight, diet, portion control and exercise.

The Healthy Lifestyles Team offer support to people who want to eat more healthily, drink less alcohol, quit smoking and be more physically active. For more details, please call 0800 073 4242 or 01902 444246.

Meanwhile, parents with children aged from 2 to 4 are being invited to take part in a free 8 week healthy lifestyles course focussing on nutrition, physical activity and positive parenting.

The new One Family programme will allow parents to find out more about healthy eating with cookery sessions, and also enjoy physical activity sessions.

The first sessions will be run at Bushbury Triangle Children's Centre, Stanley Road, on Monday 18 January and The Way Youth Zone, School Street, on Thursday 21 January. Both take place from 9.30am to 12pm and a free crèche will be available.
