The creative talents of 7 budding Wolverhampton business people will go on display in the city later this month.

Work by students who have completed Wolverhampton's Adult Education Service's Steps to Self Employment course will feature in an exhibition at the Foyer Building, St George's Parade.

The emerging businesses include fine artists, a photographer, a gift wrapping service, bespoke picture framing and wedding accessories.

The exhibition will be launched at an event on Tuesday 27 January, 2015 from 6pm where visitors will have the opportunity to buy artwork and discuss commissions and services with those taking part. The exhibition will then be on display until Tuesday 24 February, 2015 from 9am to 7.30pm Monday to Thursday and 9am to 4pm on Fridays.

The Steps to Self Employment course is a 15 week programme that supports artists and creative businesses that are in the first stages of developing their ventures.

Councillor Phil Page, Wolverhampton City Council's Cabinet Member for Schools, Skills and Learning, said: "We are delighted to be able to showcase the work of our gifted learners through this exhibition.

"It is also great to be able to support them in their new careers, whether they are setting up small businesses or working as freelance artists.

"Everyone is welcome to come along to the launch event and, of course, pick up a creative bargain or two while they are there."
