The halls will be alive with the sound of music as Wolverhampton Art Gallery plays host to a series of concerts over the next few weeks.

Dean Friedman, best known for his classic hits Lucky Stars, McDonald's Girl and Lydia, will be performing in the Lichfield Street venue's Georgian Gallery on Saturday 11 June from 7.30pm as part of a 40 date tour of the UK, Ireland and France. Meanwhile the gallery is also hosting new songwriter sessions, giving visitors the chance to hear the latest work from talented Midlands musicians. The first takes place on Friday 20 May at 7.30pm when Gary O'Dea and Alex Vann will be performing their own material. Finally, talented pupils from local schools and colleges continue their programme of Friday lunchtime recitals of classical and contemporary music in the Georgian Gallery, with performances by North East Wolverhampton Academy on 20 May and Wolverhampton Girls' High School on 17 June. They start at 1.10pm and entry is free.
