Individuals and organisations large and small are set to come together in Low Hill next month to celebrate some of the good things people can do to improve the quality of their life or the lives of others.

The Love Your Community event, taking place at Low Hill Community Centre, Kempthorne Avenue, on Tuesday 12 February from 10am to 2pm, aims to not only give people the chance to find out about the help and support available from voluntary and community groups in the local area, but also share the little things they do which make them - and others - feel better.

A number of local groups have signed up to take part in the event, organised by the City of Wolverhampton Council's Community Support Service, including Wolverhampton Library Service, the Carer Support Team, Wolverhampton City Credit Union, Low Hill Community Centre, HeadStart Wolverhampton, the Big Venture Centre and more.

David Watts, the City of Wolverhampton Council's Director of Adult Services, said: "We know that even little things can make a big difference to a person's quality of life.

"The aim of our Love Your Community showcase is to celebrate the many good things going on in and around Low Hill, highlight the steps people can take to help themselves and others, and encourage individuals and organisations to think how they could make a real difference to other people's lives."

Next month's event has been organised by the Community Support Service, which provides help and support to people to remain independent and improve their wellbeing.
