New to Wolverhampton? Need to find out about local services and amenities? Wolverhampton City Council's website can provide a helping hand.

The Type=links;Linkid=2561;Title=website;Target=_blank; has introduced a 'Find my nearest' function to enable residents and people new to the city to look up information about their local area quickly and easily.

Simply by typing in their postcode, people will be able to find their nearest polling station, schools, household waste and recycling centres at Shaw Road, Bushbury, and Anchor Lane in Lanesfield, WV Active leisure centres and libraries. They will also be able to check on local planning applications and bin collection dates, identify their local councillors and find out how to contact them.

Councillor John Reynolds, Wolverhampton City Council's Cabinet Member for City Services, said: "The council website is a one stop shop for all the information people need about council services and this new functionality will only make life easier for our customers.

"We are increasingly looking to move the organisation forward using technology to give the residents of Wolverhampton the best service possible by making information available to them at the click of a button."

Further developments are planned including finding out what events are taking place in the local area.
