People looking to make the most of the increasing number of warehousing and logistics job opportunities in Wolverhampton can fast track their way into employment with the city council.

The Fast Track into Warehousing programme has been set up in recognition of the growing number of jobs in this sector and aims to boost people's prospects in the long term.

Drop in information sessions are taking place next week at Bilston Job Centre in the town's high street, where people can find out more and sign up. People accepted onto the programme will receive guidance on Maths and English assessments, CV writing and interview skills. In addition there will be an opportunity to meet with industry experts and find out what it is like to go into warehousing, as well as the skills and attitude needed to secure a job.

The sessions will be held next Tuesday, 5 May and Monday 11 May, both between 11.30am and 2pm. People can find out more by calling 01902 555637 or 01902 557974.

City council strategic director Tim Johnson said: "We are seeing an increase in employment opportunities in the warehousing and logistics sector in the city with companies like Wiggle coming on board. It's therefore important people can prepare themselves and give themselves every chance of getting a new job. The Fast Track into Warehousing programme will help to do this and I'd urge people interested to attend one of the drop in sessions."
