Visitors can scribble and sketch using a variety of materials and techniques in a relaxed atmosphere with music, good company and refreshments available to allow their creativity to flow.
The Hand Drawn Action Packed event is free and will take place on Thursday (28 February) from 6.30pm until 9pm. For further information please call 01902 552055 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
The event has been inspired by one of the gallery's current exhibitions, Hand Drawn Action Packed, which features illustrations, drawings and animations by 10 international artists, who explore the many ways that drawings convey narratives - from stories unfolding through a sequence to single images combined with words, and animation.
The artists in Hand Drawn Action Packed make imaginative use of their tools - from a smartphone, a stick of charcoal to pen and ink - for story telling, social critique and political allegory.
The artists exhibiting are Marcel Dzama, Marcel van Eeden, Inci Eviner, Yun-Fei Ji, William Kentridge, Nalini Malani, Otobong Nkanga, Raymond Pettibon, Amy Sillman and Rinus Van de Velde.
Councillor John Reynolds, the City of Wolverhampton Council's Cabinet Member for City Economy, said: "We are always looking at new ways for people to be involved in art and this event will create a relaxing atmosphere where visitors can learn about the exhibition and the art work on display."
Visitors will be able to speak to curators and staff at the gallery and find out information on the artists and pieces, and discuss future exhibitions and events.
The Hand Drawn Action Packed exhibition is at the Lichfield Street gallery until Sunday 3 March, 2019.
