The Mayor of Wolverhampton is encouraging people to put their little grey cells to the test when he hosts a special quiz night in aid of charity next month.

The general knowledge quiz is back by popular demand and will take place in the Mayoral Suite at the Civic Centre on Wednesday 15 April, 2015.

All proceeds will go to Wolverhampton Mayor Councillor Mike Heap's chosen charities, Breast Care Nurses Trust Fund, Interfaith Wolverhampton and Mencap Wolverhampton Branch.

Last year's event was a huge success, with scores of players enjoying an evening of fun and games hosted by Carl Husted and helping to raise nearly £600 for good causes in the process.

Prizes are offered for the teams finishing first, second and third and also for the team finishing in last place. A host of fantastic prizes will also be on offer in a charity raffle, which has previously includes goodies like Wolverhampton Wanderers tickets, champagne and rounds of golf up for grabs.

Snacks and tea and coffee will be available, while competitors are invited to bring their own alcoholic drinks.

Mayor Councillor Heap said: "This quiz is a great chance for brainboxes to raise money for 3 very good causes - and enjoy a great night out at the same time.

"Our last quiz in November was a huge success and next month's event is likely to be equally popular so I'd urge teams to book their places as soon as possible."

Places are now available for teams of up to 4 people, priced £20 per team. Places must be reserved in advance - please contact the Mayor's Parlour on 01902 554090 or email themayor@wolverhampton.gov.uk for more details.
