There's plenty to keep the children entertained during this year's Easter holidays come rain or shine, courtesy of the City of Wolverhampton Council's Arts and Museums Services.

It is laying on a range of attractions for youngsters of all ages at Wolverhampton Art Gallery, Bilston Craft Gallery and Bantock House Museum.

The fun begins with an Easter Egg trail around Bantock House Museum on Easter Saturday 26 March, from 11am to 3.30pm - it costs £3 per child and everyone who completes the trail gets a chocolate egg.

Also at Bantock House Museum, children aged 4 to 12 can make their own dinosaur nest - complete with hatching dinosaur babies - in Eggosaurus on Thursday 31 March, 2016. There are 2 sessions, one from 10.30am to 12pm and 1pm to 2.30pm and cost £3 per child.

Wolverhampton Art Gallery's popular Fossil Fridays programme continues on 1 and 8 April, 2016, with 4 to 12 year olds invited to discover its amazing collection of fossils and cast their own in clay. Sessions are £3 and run from 10.30am to 12pm and 1pm to 2.30pm - visitors can also enjoy Wolverhampton Art Gallery's fascinating clay-based exhibition, Big Ceramics.

Bilston Craft Gallery hosts its Spring Fun Day on Saturday 2 April featuring an Easter egg hunt, puppet shows, cute and cuddly animals, craft activities and face painting. The fun day takes place from 12pm to 3pm and most activities are free.

Young visitors to Wolverhampton Art Gallery can create their own miniature Garden in a Glass to take home with them on Monday 4 April from 1pm to 2.30pm. It costs £1 per person and is suitable for 4 to 12 year olds.

And children can be inspired by artists including Leonardo da Vinci and develop own Fantastic Flying Machines at Wolverhampton Art Gallery on Tuesday 5 April from 10.30am to 12pm and 1pm to 2.30pm. Again, the event is suitable for 4 to 12 year olds and costs £3 per child.

Finally, Bantock House Museum is inviting youngsters to draw inspiration from its collection of painted eggs by coming up with their own designs on Thursday 7 April from 10.30am to 12pm and 1pm to 2.30pm.

Councillor John Reynolds, the City of Wolverhampton Council's Cabinet Member for City Economy, said: "If you're after something to keep the children occupied during the Easter holidays, then look no further than our galleries and museums, which have activities for all the family, from Easter egg hunts to arts and crafts."
