Diwali, the festival of lights, will be celebrated at a free City of Wolverhampton event in Phoenix Park next month.

The fun will take place in the park, off Dudley Road in Blakenhall, between 4pm and 8.30pm on Saturday 22 October, 2022.

Hosted by The Elias Mattu Foundation in association with F9 events, the event will be headlined by main artist Raf Saperra, with entertainment by DJ Nav Entertainments, Gaggi Dhillon, Tik Toker Patollaa, Lucky Rai, Hit The Dhol, Booboo and Napalese Dance Performance. 

Following the turning on of the lights at 8pm there will be a spectacular fireworks display. 

Councillor Steve Evans, the City of Wolverhampton Council's Cabinet Member for City Environment and Climate Change, said: "This is a fantastic free event for all the family, featuring top quality entertainment and a brilliant firework display, and we encourage everyone to come along and celebrate this important date in the city’s calendar.” 

The event is supported by the Indian Multicultural Society, Shri Krishan Mandir, Gurudwara Sikh Council and Gujrati Association.
