The city council will start £95,000 carriageway resurfacing works on Monday 14 March for 3 weeks.

Overnight working will reduce disruption, with the road closed from Chapel Ash Island to Victoria Street between 7pm and 6am each night.

A diversion route will be signed from Chapel Ash to Lichfield Street and vice versa.

No works will take place over the Easter weekend (Friday 25 March to Monday 28 March).

Councillor Peter Bilson, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for City Assets, said: "We are deliberately carrying these works out during nights to minimise disruption.

"The dates have also been selected to fit in with the closure of the nearby Civic Centre Car Park and Civic Halls, while those 2 buildings undergo works.

"It is part of the wider multi million regeneration of Wolverhampton and will support the city centre's vibrancy as we look to attract further investment."
