A careers fair for young people with special educational needs or disabilities (SEND) will be held next month.

The City of Wolverhampton Council is staging the Wolverhampton SEND Moving Into Adulthood Careers Fair 2023 at Wolverhampton Racecourse on Friday 20 October, 2023, from 9am to 3.30pm.

The free event is for young people in Year 9 and above, parents, carers and schools and will give attendees the chance to find out about the options available for further education, training and employment.

Councillor Jacqui Coogan, the City of Wolverhampton Council's Cabinet Member for Education, Skills and Work, said: "As a council and as a city, we have made it a top priority to ensure that children and young people with special educational needs or disabilities are able to live their lives to the full.

"We are pleased to be able to hold this careers fair, which follows a very successful debut event last year. It is open to young people in Year 9 and above with SEND and an Education, Health and Care Plan, and we'll have a range of exhibitors including colleges, providers, supported employers, social care settings and community groups attending on the day.

"We hope it will give young people and parents the help and support they need as they make the transition from school and into adulthood."

Parents, carers, schools and potential exhibitors are asked to reserve their places by next Friday 6 October, 2023 by visiting Wolverhampton SEND Moving Into Adulthood Careers Fair
