People who have signed up for Better Health: Rewards are being reminded that they need to complete the 'baseline' activities before they can start earning rewards.

Well over 20,000 people in Wolverhampton have now downloaded the free Better Health: Rewards app, and thousands are already earning valuable rewards in return for making healthier choices.

Everyone can earn at least £40 worth of rewards by taking part, but before they can claim their first rewards, they must first complete activities in their 'to do' list. These include:

  • Ordering your free fitness tracker if needed
  • Connecting your fitness tracker to the app for the first time
  • Wearing and syncing your fitness tracker to the app every day for 5 days
  • Completing your profile in the app
  • Sharing your food habits to personalise your experience
  • Completing a short emotional health survey
  • Completing 2 dietary surveys, worth £5 of rewards each.

Once these steps have been completed, the first £10 worth of rewards will be unlocked and the app will start to generate a series of weekly challenges for you to choose from, through which you will be able to earn even more points.

Whenever you are doing some physical activity, like walking, riding a bike or doing housework, don't forget to put the tracker in exercise mode so that it can capture your workout. And remember to continue to sync your fitness tracker to the app on a regular basis, ideally every day, as you complete challenges and earn rewards.

Councillor Jasbir Jaspal, the City of Wolverhampton Council's Cabinet Member for Public Health and Wellbeing, said: "It's great that so many people have downloaded the free Better Health: Rewards app – and that thousands are already claiming their first rewards.

"Remember, that before you can start to earn rewards, you need to complete the baseline steps outlined above – they are quick and straightforward, and once you are underway you will be on track to collect at least £40 worth of rewards, on top of a free fitness tracker if you need it.

"And if you haven't yet signed up, remember, you have until next Friday 31 March to do so, so please download the free app today."
