Wolverhampton's 2 Household Waste and Recycling Centres will be operating extended opening hours one day a week throughout the summer.

From next week, Shaw Road in Bushbury will be open until 7pm on Wednesdays, while Anchor Lane in Lanesfield will open until 7pm on Thursdays.

As a result, Shaw Road is now open at weekends from 8am to 4pm, Mondays and Tuesdays from 10am to 4pm and Wednesdays from 10am to 7pm, while Anchor Lane is open at weekends from 8am to 4pm, Mondays and Fridays from 10am to 4pm and Thursdays from 10am to 7pm. The extended hours will operate until the end of September.

Councillor Steve Evans, the City of Wolverhampton Council's Cabinet Member for City Environment, said: "We are pleased to be able to extend the opening hours of our Household Waste and Recycling Centres until 7pm, 2 days a week as we enter the busy summer months, a time when usage traditionally increases.

"It means our customers are now able to benefit from early opening at the weekend and late opening on Wednesday and Thursday evenings."
