Wolverhampton Art Gallery is set to host BRICKLIVE FANTASY KINGDOM over the summer months.

BRICKLIVE FANTASY KINGDOM, is a touring brick show of sword and sorcery and a fantastical quest with fearsome beasts, castles and princesses.

From Saturday 3 July until Sunday 5 September, visitors will be able to venture into the fantasy land of the Brick Kingdom, inhabited by gallant knights, powerful sorcerers and brave hunters; encounter mythical creatures including a magical unicorn, majestic griffin and an enormous dragon complete with glowing eyes and roaring sound effects – all made out of thousands of colourful toy bricks.

Visitors to the show at the Lichfield Street based gallery will have the chance to see how these incredible life sized models were built and will gain inspiration for their own brick creations. An audio guide will bring the models to life through a specially commissioned story, introducing visitors to a host of characters. Special ‘make and take’ treasure chest money boxes can be purchased from the gallery and taken home as souvenirs of the show.

City of Wolverhampton Council Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for City Economy, Councillor Stephen Simkins, said: “This exhibition is an opportunity for all ages, across the city and further afield, to come together and enjoy these amazing models that have been created.

“Art has been an escape for many over the pandemic and we are excited that the Art Gallery is back open with this superb summertime exhibition that everyone can explore.

“The work and detail that has gone into these brick models is astonishing and I urge everyone to visit and have a go at creating their own brick creations.”
