Staff and volunteers at Bantock House Museum are busy preparing for this year's Victorian Christmas party, which takes place on Friday (5 December, 2014) from 6pm to 9pm.

The candlelit house will be decked with holly and ivy, the tree in the drawing room will be dressed in the traditional style and the table will be set for dinner. Father Christmas will greet young visitors in the nursery and the sound of traditional festive music, played by talented musician Andy Casserley, will drift through the rooms.

Visitors can purchase unique Christmas gifts from a range of stalls selling delightful period style crafts and the Friends of Bantock House Museum and Park will be running tombolas with a range of prizes up for grabs.

Visitors can also see the temporary exhibition When Santa came to the Factory, which includes photographs and memories from children's Christmas parties at factories around the Black Country. People are invited to add their own stories to the displays.

The Howling Wolves Community Choir will be in the courtyard at 7.30pm to lead people in carol singing and the café will be open serving bowls of delicious hot soup, hot drinks and cake. They'll also be warm and spicy mulled wine and mince pies available in the stables.

The event is free, but donations are welcome.
