Businesses and training providers will be on hand to dish out apprenticeships and careers advice at Saturday's 'Discover Engineering Family Day' at Bantock House Museum and Park.

The free event celebrating the city's rich engineering past - and its bright future - is being held as part of the Enjoy Wolverhampton 'Visit the City' programme.

It runs from 10am to 4pm at the historic house and park, off Finchfield Road in the City of Wolverhampton.

The likes of JCB will be available to speak to on the day, while City of Wolverhampton College and STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) careers advisers will be on hand to provide apprenticeships information.

Around 18 live engineering apprenticeship opportunities will be active on the day.

Visitors will also be able to get information on joining the RAF and Sea Cadets.

Councillor John Reynolds, Cabinet Member for City Economy said: "As well as a fantastic day out for all the family, this event presents a first-class opportunity for youngsters looking to get into engineering.

"Engineering opens up so many opportunities and this event is about promoting those to people looking for careers."
