City of Wolverhampton Council's Adult Social Care Service, Public Health team and Wolverhampton Place Team from the NHS Black Country Integrated Care Board have come together to offer residential care homes across Wolverhampton an exciting provision to support the physical and mental well-being of people they care for.

The Active Care Homes Project offers care homes a free provision where a qualified instructor can attend the care home and provide general exercise and strength and balance sessions to help resident’s physicality and mental well-being.

This project forms part of a wider strategy across the city to increase physical activity levels across all age groups. This project in particular is aligned with the healthy ageing agenda which aims to provide people with a fulfilling life as they move to older years of life and prevent adverse events such as a fall causing injury.

Each session will last between 45-60 minutes and can accommodate up to 20 residents per session, space permitting. Exercises will be tailored to the residents’ ability including chair based and standing exercises.

If you are a care home situated within a Wolverhampton postcode you are welcome to book a session with one of the qualified instructors through using the link below. Or for further information please contact Alex Davy on Alexandra.Davy2@wolverhampton.gov.uk or 01902 558666
