What is the purpose of the Wolverhampton Plan?
The Wolverhampton Plan (WP) will be the single Local Plan providing planning policies, land allocations and development targets to support the sustainable growth and regeneration of the City of Wolverhampton up to 2045.
The WP will set out a vision and measurable outcomes and a spatial and policy framework for delivery. The Plan will also protect key environmental assets, support the delivery of key infrastructure and safeguard residential amenity. The policies and proposals will be used to help make planning decisions and guide investment and regeneration in Wolverhampton.
Why is the Wolverhampton Plan being prepared?
The Wolverhampton Plan (WP) is being prepared under a new national plan-making system, which requires work on the Plan to begin by 30 June 2026, followed by a 34 month preparation timetable.
