Supplementary Planning Documents (SPD) give advice on topic areas such as residential development, and access for people with disabilities. Development Briefs provide detailed planning guidance for the development of specific sites.

These documents complement the policies and proposals contained in the council's Local Plan documents.

Area guidance is also available for the City Centre (Wolverhampton Connected Places Strategy) and for Heath Town Estate (Heath Town Estate Masterplan), which can be downloaded below.

The HMO Planning Guidance note provides informal guidance for applicants, neighbours, officers and Councillors dealing with HMO applications in the planning process.

Latest News: Hot Food Takeaway SPD - Adoption

The Hot Food Takeaway Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) was adopted on 8th June 2018. The SPD sets out guidance for dealing with proposals for new hot food takeaways in the planning process.

The City of Wolverhampton Cabinet approved the draft SPD for consultation on 18 October 2017. The Individual Executive Decision Notice adopting the SPD can be viewed here.

The Hot Food Takeaway SPD, adoption statement and consultation statement are available to download below.  Paper copies are available on request at the Civic Centre.
