Permitted Development (PD) rights allow you to make certain alterations and extensions to a property without the need to apply for planning permission.
If you live in a conservation area or a listed building you may still need to apply for planning permission.
Get a Lawful Development Certificate (LDC)
In order to obtain PD you can apply for a LDC.
It is not compulsory to have a LDC but there may be times when you need one to confirm that the work you have carried out is lawful for planning control purposes.
Once you receive the certificate you can carry out development on your property without the need to apply for planning permission.
How much does it cost for a LDC?
The cost of a certificate is £195.
Alternatively, if you're still unsure, please contact the Planning Department.
