Parking Services has the power to enforce wherever a restriction, such as Double Yellow Lines, is in place. Unfortunately, we are unable to issue Penalty Charge Notices to vehicles that are not parked in contravention.

Any vehicles blocking the road or causing an obstruction to pedestrians or other road users where there are no parking restrictions in place need to be reported to the police on the non-emergency 101 number.

Local community members, through Partners and Communities Together (PACT) and other groups, have raised concerns about the issue of pavement parking in the city's suburbs.

In an effort to control this issue, City of Wolverhampton Council, in conjunction with West Midlands Police, would like to bring the following guidelines to the community's attention.

Parking Guidelines

Vehicles parked on the pavement must not:

  1. restrict the pavement for mobility scooters, pushchairs, wheelchair users, etc
  2. restrict access to resident and commercial property designated driveways
  3. restrict a clear view of the road at junctions
  4. cause damage to footpaths, grass verges or curbs
  5. be in contravention of any existing parking restrictions
