Margaret Jenkins, who was born in Hart Road on 8 August, 1913, has lived in the town all her life, now residing with her son Kenneth at Ellards Drive.
She is currently in respite at Wolverhampton City Council's Blakenhall Resource Centre following a stay in hospital, and the centre threw a party in her honour this morning.
Centre manager Carol Samuels said: "Margaret is a lovely woman and we're enjoying having her stay with us at Blakenhall Resource Centre. We are particularly honoured that we were able to help her to celebrate her 100th birthday."
Margaret worked for Ellards in Willenhall for many years, making tea and selling sweets and cigarettes. She married in 1935 and had 3 children including Kenneth and Margaret, as well as Norman who has sadly passed away. She also has 2 grandchildren, Scott and Sarah, and 3 great-grandchildren, Matthew, Jessica and Gemma.
Margaret, who puts her longevity down to enjoying the occasional glass of whiskey, spent many nights in Wednesfield Conservative Club and also had a static caravan in Lancashire for 15 years.
Kenneth said: "Mum has been the best mother, grandmother and great-grandmother anyone could wish for, and we're really proud of her."
