The lives of people living and working in Wolverhampton have been put in the frame as part of a unique exhibition.

Heathfield Park Local Neighbourhood Partnership has been working with students from the University of Wolverhampton to produce images of the diverse community in the area.

The images, along with the accompanying 'life stories', have gone on display at The Balcony Gallery, Lighthouse Media Centre, The Chubb Buildings, Fryer Street, Wolverhampton, until 11 July.

It also makes use of QR code technology, which enables visitors to scan the QR codes with their phones to get detailed information from and about the people photographed.

The original concept came from an idea to provide a photographic archive of local people to celebrate the diversity of people who live in Heathfield Park today.

It builds on the work of the Heathfield Park Local Neighbourhood Partnership which has embarked on a project to develop and write a plan for the area.

The initial stages of writing the Neighbourhood Plan included undertaking a household survey where the image and identity of the neighbourhood was seen as crucial to the area's development and regeneration in the future.

Local residents worked with the LNP, University of Wolverhampton, Wolverhampton Homes and the Hope Community Project to complete the project.

Councillor Elias Mattu, Wolverhampton City Council's Cabinet Member for Leisure and Communities, said: "This is a wonderful project which gives people a unique insight into the lives of people who live in the Heathfield Park area.

"The exhibition celebrates the diversity of the area and I'm very impressed with the way that everyone has pulled together to make this happen."

"It has been great to see local residents working together with a number of partner organisations to produce an exhibition that they can rightly be proud of."
