A meeting for stakeholders to have their say about the creation of Warstones Community Service Hub, due to take place on Monday (28 October, 2013), is being rearranged.

Due to the close proximity of the planned event to one which took place earlier this week, there has been a low take up of places and it has therefore been rescheduled for later next month to give more people the chance to get involved.

Councillor Elias Mattu, Wolverhampton City Council's Cabinet Member for Leisure and Communities, said: "We want as many people as possible to take part in the engagement process around the development of the community service hub, and so we have decided to reschedule Monday's event so that more people can attend.

"We want the engagement to be meaningful and effective, and if it is to be both of these things, we need people to come along and take part."

Anyone who would like to attend the re-arranged engagement session, which will take place at the former Warstones Resource Centre building on Monday 25 November, 2013, from 10am to 12.30pm, should call Participation Officer Rose Powell on 01902 555494 or email rose.powell@wolverhampton.gov.uk to reserve their place.

The proposals would see the building on Warstones Drive converted into a community service hub, offering a wide range of health, social care and community support services.

It would also be the new home for Warstones Library, offer drop in activities and potentially be the home to a number of third sector organisations such as Age UK, Dementia Pathfinders and the Over 50s forum.

Councillor Mattu added: "A lot of people expressing an interest in what we are proposing to do in Warstones, and this is a major development so it's really important they have their say about the sort of services we provide from the new hub.

"We had a very successful public meeting at Warstones earlier this week, and we hope to hear from as many people as possible during the engagement process which continues until Friday 6 December, 2013."
