Adventurous youngsters can enjoy a summer of fun with a host of activities on offer at Wolverhampton's adventure playgrounds.

From den building, bug hunting and outdoor cooking to sports and games, arts and crafts, ropes and face painting, there is something for everyone aged between 5 and 12 - and best of all, it's all free.

Sessions take place every weekday during the school summer holidays at Wolverhampton's 3 adventure playgrounds - Old Fallings, Gatis Street and Scotlands.

Old Fallings Adventure Playground is on Old Fallings Crescent, Low Hill, WV10 9PU, Gatis Street Adventure Playground is at Gatis Street, Whitmore Reans, WV6 0ET and the Scotlands Adventure Playground is located on Chesterton Road, The Scotlands WV10 8SP.

Each playground is open from 10.30am to 5.45pm Monday to Thursday and 10.30am to 5.15pm on Fridays during the school holidays and for more information, please contact Wolverhampton Early Help Service on 01902 552170.

Meanwhile, young people of all ages are being invited to celebrate national Playday 2014 at a free event for all the family at Bantock Park on Wednesday 6 August, 2014, from 11am to 3pm. A wide array of activities are on offer for young people up to the age of 12, including special events for the under 5s.
