People can get in shape for less at Wolverhampton's leisure centres during off-peak hours.

Wolverhampton City Council is offering 30% off the price of Fit Cards for people who want to exercise between 9am and 3.30pm, Monday to Friday - saving up to £120 per year.

Three types of Fit Card are available. Fit Gym allows people to use the fitness facilities at the Bert Williams Leisure Centre, Central Baths or Aldersley Leisure Village, Fit Swim is for people who want to use the pools at the Bert Williams Leisure Centre or Central Baths and Fit Combi gives people access to a variety of facilities at all three centres.

There is no joining fee and people do not need to sign up to a long-term contract.

Councillor Elias Mattu, Wolverhampton City Council's Cabinet Member for Leisure and Communities, said: "We hope that these discounted rates will prove attractive to people who want to exercise during the day, such as parents, people who are retired or shift workers.

"The physical, mental and social benefits of regular physical activity are clear and we are keen to help people take part in regular physical activity by providing incentives such as this one - as well as other offers such as half price Fit Cards for the over 60s and free swimming for young people aged 16 and under."

The discounted Fit Cards are available throughout the year. For more information, please visit Type=links;Linkid=1596;Title=Fit Card Membership;Target=_blank;, call 01902 552140 or pop into Aldersley Leisure Village, the Bert Williams Leisure Centre or Central Baths.
