With schools across the city breaking up for the summer, Wolverhampton City Council is keen to show the public they don't need to go far to have fun.

In response to demands from the public for more information on summer activities, the council's marketing apprentice Jack Bould, 17, has compiled an easy-to-read guide for parents, carers, children and young people.

And over the summer, Jack, who lives in Bilston, will be posting summer activity alerts on the council's Facebook page, Wolverhampton Today, to keep everyone informed of the great things to do in the city.

Councillor Elias Mattu, Wolverhampton City Council's Cabinet Member for Leisure and Communities, said: "A lot of parents will be dreading hearing the term 'I'm bored' from their children but with all ages covered by these activities they'll be kept very busy indeed!"

So whether it's National Play Day events, rookie lifeguard sessions, sticky fingers crafts lessons, or a game of football you're after, all of these activities - and many, many more - can be found in the School Summer Holidays 2013 pdf.

Activities can also be found at Wolverhampton Today with daily updates at 7pm.
