The Digital Learning Awards - the Digis - is being held at the Grand Theatre on Monday 2 July, 2018, and will celebrate the digital creativity and innovation of learners and schools.

Around 700 entries have been submitted by pupils from schools across Wolverhampton and the surrounding area in categories including animation, short film, audio, digital publication, digital artwork, digital music, computer games or programmes and innovative practice.

Two ceremonies will be held on the day, with Early Years and Key Stage 1 children being handed their awards in the afternoon and pupils from Key Stages 2 to 5 receiving their awards in the evening.

Councillor Lynne Moran, the City of Wolverhampton Council's Cabinet Member for Education and Skills, said: "Digital technology is a very important part of the curriculum and pupils in Wolverhampton are wonderfully creative, producing animations, artwork, stories, films and podcasts.

"It is great that the fantastic skills of our children and young people will be recognised at the Digis, and I am sure the judges will have an incredibly difficult task selecting the winners."

Parents can still purchase tickets to the ceremony, priced £3, from the Grand Theatre Box Office on 01902 429212. People will be able to follow the awards on Twitter on 2 July using the hashtag #Digis2018 and via a live stream on the Learning Technologies Team Type=links;Linkid=10605;Title=website;Target=_blank;.
